Pioneering production company Invision Studios will this August begin shooting a Zimbabwean version of the popular reality show Dragon’s Den.
The show allows several entrepreneurs an opportunity to present their varying business ideas to a panel of five wealthy investors, the “Dragons” of the show’s title, and pitch for financial investment while offering a stake of the company in return.
Zimbabwe becomes the third country after South Africa and Nigeria to execute the concept which is owned by Sony Pictures.
The show will air on ZBC (probably taking that sweet Sunday night spot that has become a staple for many) this October.
We spoke Invision’s Blessing Chinanga and he told us that all he did was ask for the concept from Sony and he with his team got it. It was probably more complicated than that but yeah, this is a big deal.
Chinanga said he would be telling us soon when the call for entrepreneurs will be made adding that the five dragons had already been identified and would be revealed when the show debuts.
