‘Gunther’ from ‘Friends’ dies

James Michael Tyler, famous for playing Gunther on the long-running US sitcom, Friends, has died.

Tyler passed away Sunday morning, according to his family, after losing his battle with stage four prostate cancer.

Said his family, “The world knew him as Gunther (the seventh “Friend”), from the hit series “Friends,” but Michael’s loved ones knew him as an actor, musician, cancer-awareness advocate, and loving husband.”

Tyler was 59 and is is survived by his wife Jennifer Carno.

Friends is available on Netflix and Comedy Central on DStv Channel 122.
