Nominees Gemma Griffiths and Mark Ngwazi have expressed their appreciation for the Zimbabwe Music Awards (Zima) on the eve of the ceremony.

Gemma is nominated for Female Artist of the Year, while Ngwazi is up for a gong in the male category

“The Zimas are incredibly important for creatives in Zimbabwe,” said Gemma.

“They provide a platform for artists to get recognition for their work, and create opportunities to connect with other creatives, and most importantly, they are a moment to celebrate the arts in our country.” she added.

Ngwazi said “The fact that I was nominated shows that I must be doing something right and that the country enjoys my music. I am thankful and this recognition gives me the power to keep working.”

Gemma is up against Dorcas Moyo, Janet Manyowa and Feli Nandi.
