Zimbabwean jazz sensation Dudu Mangenga has received a jail sentence after pleading guilty of culpable homicide.
She was sentenced to an effective 18 months in jail on Friday morning by a Harare magistrate.
Manhenga on Thursday pleaded guilty to causing the death while driving in 2010 and without a license.
It could have been worse. She was hoping for a fine but the state insisted on a custodial sentence.
She had been sentenced to two years but six months were suspended for driving with a provisional without supervision.
But it must be a distressing time.
