DStv has’exciting news’ on Wednesday, our guess and what viewers say they’re keen on

DStv announced on Tuesday that it will be dropping some massive news on Wednesday, under a hashtag #DStvShowcase.

Of course, just like everyone else we are pretty keen on our primary source of pan-African entertainment.

We have some speculation, the one that is probably close is the launch of a streaming service, with a kind of carousel. In its financial statement, the company said it had plans to add Netflix and Amazon Prime Video to its Showmax service for DStv subscribers.

So what you will have a block of apps with DStv Now, Showmaz Netflix, Amazon Prime and Joox. There is a possibility that Disney+ and HBO Max could be added later. Who knows?

Whether this is coming now or not is anyone’s guess but another one is the news of a launch of Shomax Pro. It is Showmax, but with live sport. A lot has been talked about this one, so this one is a massive likely for us.

As for what viewers want, well Frank, who we spoke to said that he wanted more entertainment for children for the USD20 package. Especially when stuck with kids due to Covid-19 lockdowns we can understand this.
