Danis Dube is having a good year.

Just five minutes and three seconds after his engagment, he has been appointed Acting Station Manager at national station ZiFM Stereo.

We had a chat with him real quick, and here are his words

Of what he feels about the appointment

I’m excited to embark on this journey with new responsibilities and opportunities to implement fresh ideas. It’s daunting but mostly exciting.

Of having been with the company for so long, how is this is a show of confidence in him

I’m still relatively young, and while 10 years experience in radio broadcasting is nothing to poke your nose at, it is still a great show of confidence to place such a weighty responsibility on me. I’m grateful to the company leadership for giving me the opportunity, and I look forward to leaving a lasting impression on the media landscape in the country.

Of any fresh ideas we should expect

Keep a close eye on the digital space, because you better believe that I am. And I look forward to elevating the radio standards in the country

Miss being on air?

You can still hear me in brief appearances now and again on air, and I do sometimes miss the thrill of entertaining people directly, but I believe I’m more effective when I’m bringing out the best of the on-air team. I feel like I get to live vicariously through them when they’re on the mic
