A judge on Friday ordered M-Net to reinstate Gareth Cliff to the Idols SA judges panel.
Judge Caroline Nicholls said the case was not about racism or free speech but about whether contractual agreement.
Nicholls said there was sufficient evidence to prove that there was a binding contract.
M-Net have also been ordered to pay for the costs.
M-net had parted ways with Cliff after he tweeted that people did not understand free speech at the height of the uproar over the whole Penny Sparrow thing.
What will be interesting is the fall-out after this and how the two will work together.
And key thing we got from the trial. A contract need not be signed to be binding. If the work done implies expectation then it is binding.
