Beefy’s Party Lives Up To Billing But…

AldrianBeefy’s annual A List party was held last night at Pariah State in Avondale, Harare.

It has become something of a ritual for those who follow the life of the flamboyant founder of the Zimbabwe Hip Hop Awards and he did not disappoint in throwing a good party.

The setup was on fleek. It showed there was an effort with a extended VIP area where we saw the likes of Acie Lumumba, Stunner and the works having a good time.

There was that premium vodka, Belvedere, you know when vodka so sick you can’t smell it kinda dope. Yah it is that crazy.

Altogether the feel was good except…

Where was the local music. In the 5 hours we were none of the DJs played any music from Zimbabwe.

A real insult to the host of the party, who has put himself front and centre as one of those people who push local music to the fullest. But that is just the thing with a lot of DJs. In spite of the fact that the likes of Stunner and Team Bho in the building, their songs which rock the whole of Zimbabwe will not get played in the club.

To Beefy, next time, talk to the DJs before the show and tell them what theme you want. Sure a lot of them don’t want to be told what to do, but in this country it is necessary.
