We have had a huge reaction to the work done by MAC Cosmetics SA senior resident artist Keagan Cafun at the recent Menswear Week in Cape Town.
He walks us through the different looks he worked with (among our followers, the freckles look on Jinevieve Lyons collection was the most peopular).
Cafun’s favourite was the Palse Homme execution:
I really enjoyed creating someone walking through the fire and that day, it was really hot so the models perspired which added a little texture to the look. It looked like they were in a fire and they were trying to wipe the soot away and I think it came out really well on the ramp…. I enjoy every single one.
On the youthful look:
To achieve that, we use a one-tone lighter than the natural skin under the eye area to actual lighten and lift that eye area. That will give a more rested and youthful look to the skin.
On working with the team:
You know, I enjoyed working with this team and every single person you’ve seen is talented in their different ways and has brought some sort of greateness to this team with their tips and their tricks…
I may come up with some idea and someone else can create it.
Watching the team at work from backstage was a blessing. It is when you see the executions come to life, seeing artists do something you can only imagine that you understand that grooming is a thing. A real thing.
Well, like we said, make-up is for everyone.
