AUDIO: Interview With Bulawayo All-Female Acapella Ensemble Nobuntu

The first time we came across Nobuntu is when we got a copy of their first and only album so far, Thina.

Joyline Sibanda, Duduzile Sibanda, Thandeka Moyo, Heather Dube and  Zanele Manhenga are the five members of a an female ensemble from Zimbabwe’s second largest city Bulawayo.

Watching them recently at Book Cafe was an emotive experience as they sang songs from their album and some old African classics. They also then played with a band for the first time ever when they did something with rising jazz trio Jam Signal.

We caught up with them on the eve of their current tour of Germany and Belgium.
