AUDIO: Gonyeti talks about her history-making #Shoko2017 performance

We had a chat with the first Zimbabwean female comedian Gonyeti after her performance at the recent Shoko Festival and she told us about the whole experience.

On what Bus Stop TV star felt before going onto stage:

I was so scared I almost fell backstage but the other comedians encouraged me.

On what it meant making it to be a female comedian:

It makes me happy that now it is a space we can occupy and I hope other women can come and do it as well. I can’t say it is easy. It is not easy.

Gonyeti, real name Samantha Kureya, says she stayed away from politics in her set because it was overdone.
