‘Allo ‘Allo! Writer Dead At 84

Jeremy Lloyd, co-creator of classic comedies such as ‘Allo ‘Allo! and Are You Being Served? has died aged 84.

He died on Tuesday in hospital after being admitted for treatment of pneumonia.

Lloyd, along with David Croft created two of Britain’s most loved sitcoms which were very popular when aired in Zimbabwe TV in the 90s.  Families gathered around televisions across the country to watch the hapless Rene and his wife wade through their way through the very complex time of the French Resistance in ‘Allo ‘Allo!

The ridiculousness and open-minded nature of his characters in Are You Being Served?  were the reason the pair received 13 years of success with the sitcom.
