AKA steps back to find ‘clarity’ after Nelli death

South African hip hop star AKA has decided to take a step back from public life to mourn the ‘love of [his] life”, Anele ‘Nelli’ Tembe

“I have lost the love of my life … and every day feels like a mountain to climb. I miss Anele, so much, and I’m heartbroken at the unfulfilled life we had planned,” AKA wrote.

AKA popped the question in February.

“The tragic loss of Anele has taken a great toll on me, emotionally and psychologically,” he said.

He said: “Insinuations and innuendos made on my personhood have made it even more difficult to process … which is why at this time I choose to retreat to honour my journey, praying, moments of stillness may bring me closer to some clarity.”

Meanwhile, his team will take care of his social media and other public interfaces.
