Media in South Africa claim a bloodied cricket bat found in Oscar Pistorious’s home is central to the evidence against him.
City Press newspaper citing sources lose to the investigation, said Reeva Steenkamp’s skull was crushed and police requested that Pistorius undergo drug tests.
The paper added that Pistorious called his father at 3.20am and when the family arrived they found Pistorious carrying Steenkamp downstairs. She was wearing a nightdress.
The burglar story has been thrown out by investigators because there as no sign of forced entry.
eNews Channel showed footage from CCTV which showed Steenkamp arriving at Pistorious’s house at 6pm on Wednesday.
It is believed that they were in bed together at some point. It is alleged that the first shot was fired in the bedroom after which Steenkamp locked herself in the bathroom. She was shot through the bathroom door, possibly at close range.
What will be damaging for Pistorious is that it was the neighbours and not him who called the police. He called his family.
Pistorious’s father Henke, told the Telegraph that he had no doubt that it was an accident calling it a case of ‘instinct’.
If the evidence that the media is speaking about is true then it is looking increasingly bad for Pistorious who is due to appear in court to make a bail application this coming Tuesday. While the police have said that there have been no leaks from their end, when you get respected news outlets like City Press pushing a story of that magnitude, you can’t help but wonder…
