4 Die In Car Accident Near Marondera

Four people have died in an accident involving four cars near Marondera, state media is reporting.

The dead are two adult females, an adult male and one child. The accident happened this afternoon at Hunyani Timber. 22 people were injured.

Three of the cars were going towards Mutare while a Mozambique registered haulage truck was on its way from Mutare.

Zimbabwe’s road carnage over the holiday is at its highest in years with over 150 lives lost already since 15 December. Police were seen on the local TV channel stopping buses from leaving Mbare for journeys in an effort make sure that only roadworthy vehicles are on the roads.
