24 December Declared Public Holiday In Zimbabwe

24 December 2012 has been declare a public holiday in Zimbabwe.

This means those who have not shut down already will have three days off work next week as 25th and 26th are also holidays in Zimbabwe.

This was made by presidential decree – yeah the president can do that – because Unity Day falls on a Saturday which is generally in most instances not a business day in Zimbabwe. So the next business day has been declared a holiday.

It is good cheer for some. And for the broke it is all about that chilling at home watching movies, if you have paid for your electricity.

Pretty cosmetic we think. Not much work was going to be done on Monday anyway.
