Donald Trump has been elected as the 47th President of the United States, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris.

Major media outlets project him comfortably surpassing the required 270 electoral college votes. Additionally, he secured the first popular vote victory for a Republican candidate since 2004.

Trump is now the second U.S. president to win two non-consecutive terms, a feat last achieved by Grover Cleveland.

World leaders who have extended their congratulations include Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, French President Emmanuel Macron, El Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, and UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
