Kenya: 102 all out in 19.1 overs (Lucas Nandason 24; Sikandar Raza 3-17, Trevor Gwandu 3-10)

Result: Zimbabwe won by 61 runs and won the tournament.

Zimbabwe clinched the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Sub-Regional Qualifier B title with a resounding 61-run win over Kenya in the final at the Gymkhana Club Ground in Nairobi.

Both sides had mate it to the Africa Qualifier, but there were still bragging rights, and a trophy at play.

Zimbabwe opted to bat first and, despite early setbacks, built a competitive total of 163/7.

Ryan Burl led with the bat, scoring 61 off 43 balls, including five fours and a six. Captain Sikandar Raza chipped in with a steady 27 off 28 balls, while Clive Madande (17) and Tashinga Musekiwa (14) contributed late-order runs.

Kenya’s Lucas Ndandason was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 wickets for 37 runs, including the crucial dismissals of Brian Bennett, Dion Myers, and Madande.

Kenya’s reply faltered early as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Trevor Gwandu and Sikandar Raza led the charge with the ball, both taking 3 wickets each. Raza’s 4 overs went for just 17 runs, while Gwandu was even more economical, conceding only 10 runs in his 3.1 overs.

Gwandu produced a spectacular one-handed caught-and-bowled to dismiss Francis Mutua.

Brandon Mavuta also chipped in with two wickets, dismissing key middle-order batters. Despite a fighting 24 off 19 balls from Lucas Ndandason, Kenya could only manage 102 before being bowled out.

Both teams make it to the Qualifier to get a place at the 2026 T20 World Cup.

That Qualifier takes place next year in a place yet to be shared.
