Mozambique: 56 all out in 13.1 overs (Agostinho Navicha 14; Richard Ngarava 4-16, Blessing Muzarabani 3-8, Sikandar Raza 2-10)

Zimbabwe: 57/1 in 5 overs (Brian Bennett 31, Tadiwanashe Marumani 10*; Dario Macome 1/19)

Result: Zimbabwe won by 9 wickets

Zimbabwe’s quicks made short work of Mozambique who recorded a nine-wicket win in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier Africa Sub-Regional B match at the Gymkhana Club Ground in Nairobi.

After opting to field, Zimbabwe bowled Mozambique out for a paltry 56 runs in just 13.1 overs before chasing down the target comfortably in five overs.

But it was the quicks who did most of the damage, taking eight of the wickets.

Richard Ngarava was the pick of the bowlers, claiming four wickets for just 16 runs in his four straght overs. Blessing Muzarabani also delivered a devastating spell, taking three wickets for eight runs, while Trevor Gwandu claimed the other one.

The rest went to captain Sikandar Raza, who chipped in with two wickets.

Agostinho Navicha was the only Mozambican batter to reach double figures, scoring 14 off 18 balls. Extras contributed a significant portion of Mozambique’s total, with 16 runs coming from wides and byes.

Zimbabwe made light work of the chase, reaching 57/1 in just 5 overs. Brian Bennett led the way with a quickfire 31 off 19 balls, including 5 boundaries and 1 six, before falling to Dario Macome. Tadiwanashe Marumani remained unbeaten on 10, while Dion Myers added 8 off 3 balls to seal the win.
