Zimbabwe international cricketer Tarisai Musakanda is facing attempted murder charges after he allegedly stabbed his wife during a quarrel, H-Metro is reporting.
According to the report, he argued with his wife, Tinodiwanashe Makunike, at 3 am yesterday.
This was at their home in Kwekwe, where the argument escalated into violence.
Neighbours came to her rescue after hearing the kerfuffle and found Musakanda holding a kitchen knife.
He is detained at Kwekwe Police Station.
Musakanda (29) has represented Zimbabwe in five Tests, 16 ODIs and 12 T20Is.
He has had multiple run-ins with the law.
In 2020, Musakanda was sacked by his Australian club after a drink-driving conviction.
In 2022, he was charged with culpable homicide after he ran over and killed former Zimbabwe Davis Cup player Gwinyai Chingoka. Musakanda received a non-custodial sentence.
