Knights 29 in 19.5 overs (Nezbert Maringire 13*, Richard Ngarava 7-8, Munashe Chipara 2-6)

Takashinga 1 32/0 in 2.5 overs (Tinashe Kamunhukawe 15*, Joylord Gumbie 15*)

Takashinga 1 won by 10 wickets

Takashinga 1 put themselves in the best position to defend their National Premier League (NPL) title after hammering Knights by ten wickets at Takashinga Cricket Club on Friday.

The re-arranged fixture saw Richard Ngarava grab seven wickets, including a hat-trick, in bowling out the winless Knights for just 29.

Ngarava’s bowling spell came with four maidens and 41 dot balls from eight overs.

Munashe Chipara grabbed two for six.

Openers Tinashe Kamunhukamwe and Joylord Gumbie scored 15 each to chase down the total in just 2.5 overs.

The win puts Takashinga 1 at the top and in full control of their destiny.

If they win against Bulawayo Athletic Club on Sunday, they will clinch the title, no matter what Westside do against Amakhosi.

According to the rules, if the two teams are on the same number of points, the first deciding factor is head-to-head results. Given Takashinga 1 beat Westside on the opening day, they hold all the aces.
