Tributes have poured from across the football family after the untimely death of former Zimbabwe women’s football team manager Tafadzwa Bhasera.
The much-loved administrator also served as boss at Harare City FC.
She passed away in the capital Sunday morning at the age of 38.
Bhasera’s former employers, Zifa, said:
Tafadzwa Bhasera was a stalwart in Zimbabwean football, whose unwavering dedication and passion significantly contributed to the growth and development of the sport. Her tenure as CEO of Harare City FC was marked by exemplary leadership and a steadfast commitment to excellence. Her role as the team manager of the Mighty Warriors further showcased her managerial acumen and her love for the game – the football community has lost a fervent advocate and an inspirational figure.
Harare City said:
The Harare City Football Club family is deeply saddened by the loss of our former CEO, Tafadzwa Bhasera. Her leadership, vision, and dedication to the club will never be forgotten. We mourn the passing of a true champion and a passionate advocate for the beautiful game. RIP
The Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League said it ‘was deeply saddened’ by her passing.
FC Platinum and Ngezi Platinum Stars extended their heartfelt condolences to the Bhasera family.
Many others referred to her as ‘a dedicated administrator’.
