The search for the Zimbabwe men’s cricket head coach could be over.
While Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) have played this one close to their chest, we are reliably informed that there will be a board meeting this week.
Usually, board meetings result in the announcement of new appointments.
The deadline for application to serve as Dave Houghton’s successor passed on 15 March 2024. So there is a distance between then and now.
And with the Bangladesh T20 series set for end of this month into early May, we would be surprised if a decision is still far.
With the resignation of Hamilton Masakadza as Director of Cricket, that position needs filling. That is assuming the position remains, given ZC is undergoing a restructuring exercise.
We will wait and see then.
