The quest for clear skin, glowing skin and glass skin has been there since the beginning of time. And to be honest, I have also embarked on this journey countless times and much to my face’s annoyance.
It has fallen victim several times.
I saw Ivai Skincare by accident while mindlessly scrolling through Instagram. I reached out and, voila, I had in my hand, the covered Shea butter.
I was very excited and I quickly imagined my skin flawless, glowing and blemish free. I washed my face and applied the Shea butter whilst humming to All I Do Is Win ( mind you I am not Gen Z so this jam slaps ).
Fast-forward to 3 days later. Instead of a glow, there is a hive of rash, and an irritation I cannot pray away. I quickly pop an antihistamine and wash thoroughly the Shea butter away. Tears threaten to streak down my cheeks as I sigh loudly . Instead of that cocoa butter skin I imagined I am saddled with the worst breakout since 2019.
That experience taught me the below:
1) What works for one might not necessarily work for you
2) Research before using a product
What I loved about Ivai Shea Butter:
1) The Shea butter is whipped to perfection
2) I had the Vanilla Shea Butter and I loved how it smelled
3) Their response time is okayish
Who I wouldn’t recommend Ivai Shea Butter to?
1) Someone with dry sensitive skin that is eczema prone because the fallout is terrible
(from experience)
I have been using the Shea butter on my hands and I absolutely love it there. My hands are softer , aesthetically pleasing, and before I leave, I would like to say patch test any skincare product so you won’t look like a Versace bag.
