Woooo
This is going to cause a stir.
So we have caught sight of an index which lists South Africans as the best English speakers in Africa.
This is based on the Education First English Proficiency Index (EF EPI) which attempts to rank countries by the equity of English language skills amongst those adults who took the EF test.
The test is for those who do not use English as a native language.
And it says those brothers and sisters south of the Limpopo rank the highest in Africa, while ranking 12th in the world.
The Netherlands are ranked first and Laos last.
The EF EPI 2022 version was developed using test data from 2.1 million people who took the exam in 2021.
Among Africans, Kenya came second (20th globally) and Nigeria third (28th globally).
As for where Zimbabwe are, well they are not in the list.
So they will have something to say about it along with Namibia, and Malawi. And Botswana too.
