Zimbabwe Men’s Cricket Head Coach Dave Houghton is a man leaving nothing to chance.

He has set his eyes on winning the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023 after the draw was revealed on Tuesday.

Houghton says he wants to win the group so there is no need to hope for luck in the second round.

While the focus is on the West Indies in Zimbabwe’s Group, Houghton says his charges must not take the smaller nations lightly as they can beat anyone on their day

The Qualifier will be held from 18 June to 9 July in Harare and Bulawayo with 10 teams fighting it out for 2 spots in the Cricket World Cup proper in India later this year.

The groups are

Group A: Zimbabwe, West Indies, USA, Nepal, Netherlands
Group B: Ireland, Sri Lanka, Oman, UAE, Scotland
