It is being reported that Jordan Zemura has signed a pre-contract with Serie A side Udinese.
The Zimbabwean left-back does so after failing to come to an agreement with English Premier League strugglers Bournemouth.
The situation came to a head over the last couple of months when he was banished from the team, having been labeled a ‘contract rebel’.
With a few months until the end of his contract, Zemura can sign a pre-contract with whomsoever he chooses, and it is too Serie A that he takes his football adventure.
Given that he has developed through their youth system, Bournemouth will be able to get a compensation fee. It is nowhere near what they would have gotten for a straight transfer.
For Zemura, this is a no-brainer. Clearly he does not feel valued at the Vitality. Bournemouth are more than likely to be relegated this season and he gets to move to a mid-table Serie A side. That guarantees him high level football in one of the top five leagues in Europe.
And should it go through, he becomes the first Zimbabwean in Serie A.
