The Zimbabwe government has said that the current cholera situation in the country is under control.
This was said by the Minster of Information, Publicity, and Broadcastig Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, at a post cabinet briefing to the media on Tuesday.
“Cabinet wishes to assure the nation that the cholera situation is under control,” she told the press corps.
And then she added that a sizeable amount of money had been set aside to combat cholera.
“Cabinet approved a total budget of US$24 168 353 for cholera epidemic preparedness & response plan,” Mustvangwa revealed.
As to the entry points to the country, she said, “Active screening at ports of entry and exit has been initiated & surveillance activities are ongoing.”
Cholera has been prevalent in the region and Zimbabwe is among countries which have been affected.
For the country, it has been exacerbated by the general inability to supply consistent treated water to citizens.
