Raza is a PSL champion

Sikandar Raza scored one run for his Lahore Qalandars side in the Pakistan Super League final against Multan Sultans on Saturday.

Lahore went on to win by one run in a nail-biting match.

They posted 200 for the loss of six wickets after choosing to bat first. It was largely down to the top-order heading steady before a collapse.

Of that top order, Abdullah Shafique, coming in at three, did the damage late on, setting up what ended up as 85 off the last 30 balls of their innings. He would go out for 65 chasing a wide delivery after smashing three consecutive boundaries. There was a six in there.

Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi was destructive. 44 off the last 15 it was. He had two fours and five sixes in there.

In their response, the Andy Flower-coached Sultans were aggressive and made 72 in the powerplay. It got harder for a while. Then there were bits and bobs. Add some average bowling later on, some dodgy fielding and off the last ball, a run-out meant that Sultans could only make 199 for the loss of eight wickets.

Raza becomes the second Zimbabwean to win the PSL title, after Blessing Muzarabani did it with the Sultans in 2021.
