Durham arrive for Zimbabwe pre-season tour

English Cricket County side Durhma have landed in Zimbabwe, as part of the pre-season preparations.

They touched down at the Robert Mugabe Mugabe International Airport on Thursday, aboard a RwandAir flight.

They join another side, Glamorgan, who arrived on Wednesday evening.

Both sides will take part in matches against local select sides across all tree formats. They kick off with three-day matches in Harare this Saturday.

All matches will be in the capital city.

Durham were last in Zimbabwe three years ago. The Covid-19 outbreak however cut their tour short.

Marcus North, Director of Cricket said: “We are extremely excited to be returning back to Zimbabwe for our pre-season tour after receiving an invitation from Zimbabwe Cricket.

“Having had a small glimpse back in 2020 we are looking forward to having a full tour this time around.

“Our players and staff will gain valuable experience along with match preparation against quality opposition leading into our summer.

“As our successful winter training is coming to a close this tour will provide fantastic preparation for the lads.”

All matches will be covered on the Zimbabwe Cricket App, available for free on the Google and Apple stores.
