The last time UB40 came to Zimbabwe, the country was still finding its feet as a republic, following independence in 1980.
It was May 1982, and the group came for two performances, one in Harare and the other in Bulawayo.
The Herald reported that the first one set for Bulawayo was washed away, but they were able to play the second at City Sports Centre in Harare.
That was epic. They even hung out with Devera Ngwena Jazz Band
After that, they held two more shows at Rufaro Stadium in 1986. The late Olive Mtukudzi performed at that show.
Now Ngoma NeHosho have just announced that the band will make it to this side, in May again. This time 25 May at Old Hararians Sports Club, Harare.
And they have founding member Ali Campbell coming too.
Tickets are going on sale Friday, 3 March at Tech Tools and Pariah State Avondale and Pomona, as well as the new Upstate at Highland Park.
Admission is USD60.
