The winners of the 2021-22 Chibuku Super Cup have been decided and ambitious side Bulawayo Chiefs beat Herentals 1-0 at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.

Arthur Musiyiwa scored the all-important goal for the first piece of silverware for Amakhosi.

And here is why we think this is important.

Progress

We have watched Bulawayo Chiefs grow over the last few years and we like to see them rewarded for their work. They look intentional and are slowly going about their work to hit targets and in a few years, who knows a World Cup. Their stability is a good thing to watch.

They’re fun

They have given us moments and are probably the loudest, most engaged local club on Twitter and we are here for it. You want to see a brand that talks in the language of people it engages. They are personable.

Spread the china

The league is dominated by FC Platinum and them picking up another double is not a good look. You want as many teams being genuine competitors for silverware. That Chiefs won it against another side not too fancy in Herentals means there is a level of health in the league.
