Zimbabwe star duo Blesssing Muzarabani and Sikandar Raza have been named among players who could set for the inaugural UAE International League T20 (ILT20).
Organisers announced their names among a tranche of others.
There are no Bangladesh, Pakistan, or India players announced though. Only Chris Lynn was announced from Australia. It is also confirmed that David Warner won’t make this ILT20, meaning he could play the Big Bash League (BBL) for the first time since 2013.
“Over the past weeks, ILT20’s six franchises have started discussions and engaged with players, and players’ agents, to exercise their ‘Direct Acquisition’ rights,” Khalid Al Zarooni, chairman of the ILT20, said in a statement.
Raza and Muzarabani had been named among nominations for the BBL but since the two overlap, it might mean they will likely have to make a choice between the two tournaments.
The ILT20 runs between January and February 2023. It will have 34 matches with all the teams playing each other twice, before four playoffs, including the final. The matches are spread across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
