Zimbabwe barred from another tournament over Fifa ban

Zimbabwe have suffered yet another setback after they were barred from the second edition of the COSAFA Women’s Champions League Qualifier.

This is as a result of the country’s continued ban by Fifa over government interference in the running of local football. The ban bars Zimbabwe from all international football.

Black Rhinos Queens were runners up in the first edition last year, but were absent from the draw made on Wednesday.

Durban, South Africa will host the tournament from 7 to 13 August 2022.

The winners take part in the 2022 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League finals in Morocco later in the year.

Already Zimbabwe have been kicked of Afcon 2023, Chan 2022 and Cosafa 2022.
