Zimbabwe national women’s cricket captain Mary-Anne Musonda has said the experience she had participating in the inaugural Fairbreak Invitational T20 tournament held in Dubai recently changed her perspective her cricket.

Her team Tornadoes were crowned champions.

Musonda had a quick chat exclusively with 3-mob.com about the experience.

What is the winning feeling like?

Lifting a trophy is something special hey. It is also the process of getting to the finals and eventually winning it that made it really special. Such a beautiful experience.

What was it like to be in the same dressing room with some of the best in the world?

Initially I was fan-girling badly. But when these players actually interacted with the team and acted very normal to us, I appreciated them more.

There is feeling of being valued they instilled in everyone in the team regardless of who you are, or your experience and this made the 2 weeks enjoyable.

What can you say was your biggest lesson?

My biggest lesson was probably sticking to each other and trusting each other as a team. We had ebs and flows on the field but everyone kept on showing up. Pretty cool stuff!

Opportunities such as these are mainly growth opportunities. There is so much out there on and off the cricket park
