about for a long-time. A collaboration of the best of Zim Hip Hop. This 16 track album features

The hip hop culture in Zimbabwe has spread with the energy and passion of a musical and cultural
revolution borne from the frustration, anger, poverty, joy, and spirit which young African American
rappers expressed transformed the minds of millions of Zimbabwean youth, who related to the
messages and stories being told.

The crux of the ZCollabs Volume 1 album illuminates the solid message that Zim Hip hop is more than
just another form of music fad — the fact that it also has its own subculture and is now a transmitter of
political and social commentary being absorbed by Zimbabwean youth who relate to all aspects of this
new musical revolution. Many of the featured artists entered the music scene through the Afropop or
traditional music genres have now become hip hop artists and have contributed to the evolution of the
musical form in Zimbabwe.

This collaborative effort is the start of a new order in Zimbabwe that is being driven forth by a
magnitude of donors who are passionate about providing opportunities to creative Zimbabweans
through curated efforts of Zvigaba Foundation.
