Zimbabwe Women rounded off their round robin campaign with a crushing 67-run win over Namibia in a Capricorn Tri Series match at the Wanderers Stadium in Windhoek.
After their win in the morning, the Lady Chevrons posted 156 without loss, a record opening partnership for them in Women’s T20Is.
Sharne Mayers picked up her third half century, scoring 68 off 57 balls. It included nine fours a six.
On the other end, 16 year-old prodigy Kelis Ndlovu picked her maiden half-century. Her 48 came off 63 balls.
In response, Nambia never really got going and were restricted to 89 for the loss of six wickets from their 20 overs.
Sune Wittman and Arrasta Diergaardt put on 34 for the first wicket, before the latter fell to a run out by Nomvelo Sibanda for 23 off 28 balls.
Captain Yasmeen Khan was bowled for a golden duck by Francesca Chipare.
Kayleen Green Joined Diergaardt and the pair put on 29, before the former was removed for 17, off the bowling of Mayers, with Ndlovu completing the catch.
Diegaardt soon fell after, run out by a combination of Chiedza Dhururu and Jospehine Nkomo.
After that the innings became perfunctory and the match as Zimbabwe made it five wins in a row.
Chipare was two off 18 from her four overs, while Mayers one for seven from her solitary over.
Namibia Women and Uganda Women round off their interest tomorrow. Zimbabwe and Namibia then meet in the final the day after.
