English League One table-toppers Wigan Athletic could be just one win away from automatic promotion to the Championship.

The side, captained by Zimbabwe international Tendayi Darikwa, needed two goals from Will Keane to pick up a 2-2 draw at Ipswich.

Keane had given them the lead in at the stroke of half-time before goals from Conor Chaplin and Sam Morsy in the second period Put Ipswich ahead. Wigan then got the equaliser in the 86th minute.

Darikwa was involved for the full 90 minutes.

The result keeps Wigan ahead by five points with three games to go. Rotheram and MK Dons are joint second but the latter has played one more game. That means MK Dons would need to win all their matches and Wigan lose all theirs for the former to knock them out of automatic promotion.

MK Dons lost 1-0 to Oxford United on Tuesday evening. That was back to back losses.

Rotherham slipped to a fourth defeat in five league games as they lost 2-0 at Burton.
