Zimbabwe Women’s Squad for Namibia tri-series

Mary-Anne Musonda

Captain Mary-Anne Musonda captains a side with experience and some youth as Zimbabwe Cricket Women take to the field in Namibia for a tri-series which also includes Uganda.

Coach Gary Brent takes charge of the team in their maiden tour. Most of the players have international experience and he will be particularly glad to have Australia-based Anesu Mushangwe as well South Africa-based Sharne Mayers. Mushangwe has not played for Zimbabwe since 2019 and Mayers only returned to the Zimbabwe fold for the ODI World Cup qualifier in Harare last year.

Youngsters Kellies Ndlovu and Mitchelle Mavunga have also been called up after impressing in the domestic season.

The tournament kicks off Wednesday with Zimbabwe taking on Namibia.
