All set for Men’s Regional T20 matches as Global Qualifier preps begin

Zimbabwe Cricket Men’s T20 Regional matches kick of on Tuesday as preparations for the Global Qualifier B for the T20 Cricket World Cup begin.

After the T20 provincial season ended with Alliance Health Eagles winning the cup, action now focuses on getting the best performers into two groups as they stake a claim for selection.

Three T20s will be player over three days at Old Hararians Sports Club. Matches will be at 9.30am local time. The other two matches are on Wednesday and Thursday.

Stuart Matsikenyeri will coach the Northerns side while Douglas Hondo will be at the helm for the Southerns.

In a recent interview, Zimbabwe Director of Cricket Hamilton Masakadza said these matches will be a precursor to tours by South Africa A, Namibia and Afghanistan as tthe side gears up for the Qualifier Zimbabwe will host this July.

The matches will be streamed on the Zimbabwe Cricket YouTube page.
