Phiri in ICC Women’s T20I Team of the Year

Zimbabwe bowler Loryn Phiri has been named in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s T20I Team of the Year.

Phiri played nine T20I matches for Zimbabwe in 2021, and claimed a stunning 16 wickets, including best figures of 5/6. Her bowling average stood at a stunning 7.18. She played an integral part in Zimbabwe’s unbeaten run to the Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier Africa title. She would be named bowler of the tournament for her efforts there.

The ICC Team of the Year acknowledges the best players who entertained one and all with their performances in a calendar year.
