WARRIORS AFCON UPDATE: Zemura latest, Pasuwa role, Musona buoyant

Zimbabwe are just a day away from their latest Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) adventure.

With the Warriors set to take Senegal in their first group stage match on Monday, here is the latest news.

Jordan Zemura

There is some movement on the Jordan Zemura news. Warriors manager Wellington Mpandare said “He is still in the UK, and would wait for his PCR tests results on Saturday (today) or Sunday before he joins the team. He is then expected in camp on Monday or Tuesday.”

Pasuwa role

Former Zimbabwe national team coach Calisto Pasuwa will be a consultant for the Malawi national team. He is coach of the recent double winners Big Bullets and Malawi are in the same group with Zimbabwe.

Musona buoyant

Zimbabwe captain Knowledge Musoa says it is high time his side made it out of the group stage of the ttournament. He told Caf Media, “I am confident that we will have a good tournament that will make the whole country proud.”

Benjani absence

Zimbabwe assistant coach Benjani Mwaruwari did not travel with the team because he tested positive for Covid-19.

Kundai Benyu

Kundai Benyu returned to full training after missing out yesterday


Zimbabwe are the same group as Senegal, Malawi and Guinea.
