Gems lose to lowly Botswana

The Zimbabwe national netball team lost 47-44 to low-ranked Botswana at the Africa Netball Championship in Windhoek, Namibia on Sunday afternoon.

The loss came as a surprise after the Gems won the first two matches in a row.

Captain Felisitus Kwangwa suffered an injury early in the first quarter and her withdrawal opened the door for the Female Zebras. She did eventually return to play with a limp but by that time the game was all but done.

That said, their loss was down to complacency as they simply underestimated their lesser neighbours.

Zimbabwe play their last match on Monday, and it is against Kenya.
