Cara Black wins 2022 fan vote for International Tennis Hall of Fame

Zimbabwe legend Cara Black has won the 2022 fan vote for the prestigious International Tennis Hall of Fame.

Black, a former WTA Tour Doubles specialist who once held the number one spot for 163 weeks finished ahead of Flavia Penetta and Anna Ivanovic.

Voting came from a record 178 countries, according to the organisers.

Now it coupled with an Official voting group of tennis journalists, tennis hostorians and Hall of famers.

For winning the fan vote, Black gets three extra bonus percentage points, Penetta and Ivanovic one.

In order to be inducted one must get 75% or higher from the complex system.

Official Voting Group takes place in the month ahead and will be announced next year.

Black said she was ‘grateful for the support [she’d] felt from Zimbabwe’.
