Nama-nominated dancer Lynsey Lynn dies

National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) nominated dancer and choreographer Lynsey Lynn has died.

The news was first broken by the Namas themselves and then confirmed by sources close to her. She passed away, Tuesday 2 November 2021.

A family statement then said:

It with great sadness to inform you on the passing of our beloved sister Lynsey and wife to Sean. As the Mambwere and Nyamakwenje families we would like to thank you for the love and support you have been showing us. We kindly ask you to allow the family time to mourn.

Lynsey had a fascinating repertoire in which she worked with artists such as Janet Manyowa, Gemma, SoulDeep, Nyasha David, Leonard Mapfumo, Vera, Mr Rebel, Tariro neGitare and Jah Prayzah.

She was also was part of the Innovative Dance Crew together with former Winky D drummer Delroy Scara who passed away a year ago.

Together with Kudzanai Kandiwona they formed the dance group Sheroes.
