Brendan Taylor sets Zimbabwe ODI record

Zimbabwe star batsman Brendan Taylor, in scoring 49 in his side’s convincing win over Ireland, reached a record breaking statistic.

Already just 109 behind Andy Flower for the most career runs in the for the format, Taylor is a history maker.

He already is far out in terms of the most 100s with 11. The second highest is Alistair Campbell with seven. Across formats, he even eclipses Flower with 17 centuries compared to 16 from the legend.

What is the new record?

With the six that took him to 49 at Stormont, he became the player with the most ODI sixes for Zimbabwe. He is sitting on 106. He passes former captain Elton Chigumbura, whose record sits at 105.

Meanwhile, Sikandar’s half-century on Wednesday allowed him to cross the 3,000 run mark, in ODIs for Zimbabwe.
