WATCH: Real Housemaids of Zimbabwe – Episode 1 – Meet The Housemaids

The first episode of a new mockumentary-style show called Real Housemaids of Zimbabwe is out.

We meet the housemaids, all performed by Munashe Chirisa. They are Changa, SisiSandra, Team Jane, Nestai and Petty Palmer.

It promises to be a hilarious series and Munashe gives as diverse performance of types of housemaids you can find in Zimbabwe. If you have ever come across housemaid in Zimbabwe, we are pretty sure they will fall into some of those categories portrayed. Oh and don’t forget his performance as the father of the house. Man is such a chameleon.

What makes it fun to watch is that it is presented in Shona, retaining a lot of authenticity. There is also a lot of pop culture references. It gives it texture and fosters an accessibility of characters as placed in specific time.
