LISTEN: Zimbabwe Women stand-in captain Nkomo talks up challenge ahead of SA Emerging series

Zimbabwe Women Cricket stand-in captain Josephine Nkomo, has talked up the challenge before her, as she leads a largely inexperienced side, against an SA Emerging team, in five one day matches.

Josephine Nkomo in action for Zimbabwe against Ireland in an ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier, Mercantile Cricket Ground, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Nkomo has been given the task in the absence of regular skipper Mary-Anne Musonda, who is out with an injury. Five other regulars are also missing as Zimbabwe seek to get some minutes under the belt in a format that they have not played much in the last couple of years.

Speaking exclusively to 3-mob.com’s Larry Kwirirayi, on #3mobRadio, Nkomo spoke of her delight to be returning to be returning to the playing field. She did answer questions on the challenge itself and what they hoped to learn from the series.

The series is taking place at Queen’s Sports Club, in Bulawayo, behind closed doors.
