Belgian coach Hugo Broos has been named as head coach of South Africa’s national football men’s team.
The announcement was made by South African Football Association (Safa) at a press conference on Wednesday.
Broos won the Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon in 2017. He also won three Belgian titles with Club Brugge (2) and Anderlecht (1).
He has been handed a five-year contract. He will be in South Africa next week, according to Safa boss, Danny Jordaan.
Broos’s first port of call will be the 2022 World Cup Qualifier against Zimbabwe, currently scheduled for next month.
