Zifa gives update on Munetsi, Kadewere situation as they could still miss at least one match

Zimbabwe have been dealt a possible blow as it has been revealed that France-based duo Tino Kadewere and Marshall Munetsi might miss the important Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie against Botswana on Wednesday.

The Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) made the announcement which could reduce the quality of an already depleted squad.

The good news is that they could still be available for the match in Harare against Zambia on Monday next week.

Zifa spokesperson Xolani Gweseal said “We have engaged the Mozambique Football Federation, who have in principle agreed to assist us to transport the players back to France after the qualifiers.

“They might not be available against Botswana but could be here against Zambia.”

Most of the Warriors European contingent could not make it for the two matches which will decide whether they make their third Afcon tournament in a row or not due to restrictions in the countries they are based in.

Zimbabwe coach Zvardko Logarusic on Monday announced a full 23-man squad for the matches
